The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
The book I got had more then just this story and so I read a number of works by Kafka. I’m sure I’ve heard his name used in TV or Radio, but I didn’t understand what was meant until now.
The Metamorphosis was a good story, it really put you in his place as a bug (he doesn’t say what kind) as he wishes he could return to being a person to be of help to his family as he was the only person who supported the family. It was also interesting in that having to deal with his condition the family (each member) also underwent a metamorphosis as in the end they are all going into the future with good prospects with them moving into the next stages of their life. I enjoyed it as it tug on me as a breadwinner, and to be in a position of needing help instead of providing it really pulled at my emotions.
This is one of the books in Daria’s Reading List that I’m working on getting through.
